Elitism
By elitism, I mean that some players will be better than the others with very few actually attaining the highest level items, the best titles, and so forth. Quite honestly, I want elitism in the games I play. That's probably why I enjoyed Diablo 2 and LoD so much. Work hard, play alot, get rewarded. Not play every now and then just to get to the same level as people who spend all day on the game. I know you may argue that the casual player isn't equal because they make less money, don't have as many titles, and on and on. But, with steady progress, the casual player can get 15k armor, cap all skills, play whatever build thats popular at the time, and essentially be the same as everyone else. Probably the thing I dislike most about Guild Wars is the fact that all the armor is the same. I like the focus on skill combinations as the real proof of skill, but the weapons and armor also have a big impact on the game. I want to be unique, I dont want the same stuff as a quarter million other people, and that brings me back to Diablo 2. Rarely would you see someone with the same armor(disregarding sets and uniques). The skin may be the same, but teh stats on some were nearly impossible to recreate. So where you had that high end, one-of-a-kind, "hey, look at me, I'm better than you" items, you almost feel special. I guess where I'm going with this is I hope that GW2 doesn't follow the same format as GW1, though in all probablities it will.

When I see a person in Obsidian, I don't think...
"Haha, they have the same armor level as me."
Rather, mostly what pops in my head is...
"Only 25 ectos until I get mine..."
"eBay..."
"RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO you."

Stats don't make you elite in GW. Not sucking balls at the game makes you elite in GW.
Different worlds.

Am I the only one who didn't read that? Just looked like a wall of text to me.
Carry on. Sorry for my intrusion.

Regarding "the flaming bait on a dead horse" or wahtever, I heard of beating a dead horse, but I have no idea what that means.
And yes it may be a wall of text, but It's just something I've been thinking of alot. I don't write much, but when I do, as teh saying goes "when it rains it pours".
But teh point of this wasnt to be like "aww man, I'm poor, and I wish someone else was poorer than me, and my stuff isnt worth jack, and blah blah, whine whine." The point is that I want more advancement. The ability to obtain higher levels, the ability to get better items the more you work at it, and by having caps for everything, it kind of limits how much we do.

GW isnt the way you want it because GW is designed to be exactly the way you dont like, sooooo.... if you dont like it leave GW and dont make stupid threads about stuff that other people have been flamed for before.
go play whatever other game it is that you can make your epeen huge and dont try to bring it to GW

Get a Tormented weapon/Crystalline Sword, show off your Miniture Ghostly Hero in town, show off that r12 /emote in town, etc etc.
There is plenty. Do you realize how much money a perfect max Crystalline Sword goes for? Guild Wars is, first and foremost, about BALANCE. I would very much prefer if Anet made that the first and foremost priority of GW2. So if you want your super elite, number-crunching loot-fest, then keep playing D2, or WoW.

I love Guild Wars, that why I've been playing for almost three years, and the only reason that I'm even thinking like this is because I guess the excitements gone. But it looks like this topic is gonna cause nothing but problems which is not what I wanted so someone close please.
